When I first came across the Bissell Steam and Sweep I was dubious. A product that could sweep and mop at the same time, without the use of harsh chemicals?

It seemed too good to be true. I always worry that multitasking products give up a bit of quality to ensure they can do more than one task, but I also knew there was a possibility that this product could be just what I needed. I had been using my straw broom, push mop, and chemical laden floor cleaners for years. When you have a large family like I do, you need some heavy duty power to keep your floors in shape. I recently developed a chemical allergy though, and it was time for some changes. I could no longer use the products I had depended on for so long because I would get violently ill from the fumes and worse if I made contact with the product itself. I was terrified that cleaning would now be twice as hard and time consuming. Natural products that I purchased seemed to work a little bit, but made little impact on some of my children’s larger, stickier messes. I needed something completely different. My research led me to the bissell steam and sweep, and boy am I glad it did.

I went to my local box store and bought the Bissell Steam and Sweep with high hopes, but low expectations. When I got home I assembled it quickly with my Phillips head screwdriver. I immediately got to work on my all sealed hardwood floor living room. It was a disaster due to not being cleaned properly in weeks while I sought a product that would actually work. I filled the water reservoir, and once it heated, began. I watched in awe as its swivel head maneuvered around my furniture, and in one easy step cleaned up debris, and mopped my floor to a shining glow. I was particularly impressed by the swivel head because I had to move very little of my furniture to get into tight spots. I also did not even have to move the plug thanks to the Bissell Steam and Sweeps 30 foot cord. When I finished, and looked at my beautiful floors, I almost wept with joy. Not only was I going to be able to keep my house clean again, I could do it with no chemicals and in half the time. I tested next on the kitchen and hallways.

The floors there are tile. Once again the Bissell Steam and Sweep worked fantastically well.

I was a little worried about the effects of the steam on the linoleum in my bathrooms, but since I had control due to the trigger of how much steam to use, there was no problem whatsoever. The machine is so light weight even my eight-year old daughter was able to push it easily to help me with some of the cleaning.

The Bissell Steam And Sweep has brought a bit of normalcy back to my life after it was derailed by my chemical allergies. I have had to make so many changes in the products I use and the way I go about living. I am grateful sparkling clean floors do not have to be one of my sacrifices. The Bissell Steam and Sweep is a lifesaver for those with chemical sensitivities or allergies. The day I bought my Bissell Steam and Sweep was the day I started to get my life back. It is by far my favorite purchase in recent times. Now, if only it would wash my dishes. Thank to Bissell Steam and Sweep!
